Mac a £oan is a simple and friendly amortization program that has proven itself popular and bullet proof over the years. Imitations have appeared , but don’t be fooled!
Mac a £oan 3.0 is compatible from Systems 4.8 (at least) through 7.1 (at least). The printing features work with dot matrix printers such as the ImageWriter® II or the LaserWriter®.
Features:
Mac a £oan is a stand alone application. Simply double-click the Mac a £oan application, or select it and then choose open from the Finder.
Mac a £oan will generate a standard amortization schedule using approximate time and ordinary simple interest. (Banking standard).
You must enter the amount of the loan as well as the desired interest rate plus the length of the loan in years. Use decimals for fractions, i.e. you would enter the decimal fraction .5 for half a year.
Click the check box for summary only if that is all you want, otherwise it will track forward for each year of the loan after clicking the calculate button. Cancel anytime.
Click the "output to printer" check box if you want the entire amortization, including yearly and loan summary to be printed and you have a printer connected to your Macintosh. Note that you cannot check the summary and the output to printer checkboxes, just one or the other. If just want to print a summary, proceed to that screen and print it there. Once again, printing is disabled in the demo version of Mac a £oan.

Funny thing, you noticed…
Patience is a virtue when calculating ‘summaries only’ for astronomical calculations. We'll save you some curiosity though by telling you that if you are calculating the ‘summary only’ of a loan amortized over the next 600 years you are going to have to wait a few minutes. You can use Mac a £oan for benchmark speed tests to see who has the fastest Mac in the office.
When a payment figure is less than a penny it is rounded to zero. For instance if you borrow $1200 at 6% interest for 200 years your monthly payment will be zero. Try a fewer number of years until you get a least a penny of payment going every month! Lets get real!
Your final principal amount shows how much your last payment is. If it is a negative number, that approximate amount would be returned by the lender. If it is a positive number, that would be an additional final payment due from the borrower. This explains why the Total Summary Paid amount may “appear” to be less than the yearly review summaries totaled. The last payment (or prinicipal amount finally due) isn’t reflected in the yearly reviews which reflect the standard monthly payments only.
